We have developed a tool setter which is optically triggered and very reliable. It tested out slightly better than the 3D Probe we had been recommending.
It is modular with our current magazine design.

A ground pin moves in a sleeve bearing and uses opposing magnets instead of spring loadding. The pin closes the window on an IR beam as the trigger.

The resistance is very light meaning you can touch off a 3D Probe without triggering it making if compatible with tool length offsets.

The best part is that a tool pocket does not need to be used to for an internal tool setter.
